Structural Concepts/Structural Existing Condition Report
The purpose of this report is to research the structural system of the Gateway Commons building in Ithaca, NY.  It includes descriptions of the foundation, walls, floor system, roof system and lateral system.  The gravity and lateral loads were determined and the capacity of one the lateral system elements was checked.

This report investigates the feasibility of four alternative floor framing systems.  The four systems are hollow core planks on steel beams, two way slab with edge beams, composite steel, and non-composite steel.

This report investigates the building's lateral system.  A computer model of the shear walls was created to determine the deflections and force distributions.
